When PCS season rolls around, goodbyes are hard to face all the way around. Those who are left behind miss the friends who once filled their days and shared their lives. Those who are moving on face the challenge of rebuilding somewhere completely new. The Bible is full of comfort, peace, and advice for our goodbyes.
1 – To Keep Things In Perspective: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 ESV
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.”
2 – To Bless the Ones You’re Leaving: Numbers 6:24-26 ESV
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.”

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”
5 – To Remind You to Be a Friend: 2 Corinthians 13:11-14 ESV
